Morning World!!

Thankyou to everybody for the Birthday wishes yesterday (my personal FB profile) Really appreciate the messages, texts and phone calls!!!

For those who don’t know, Artisan Electrical celebrates its 5th Anniversary this weekend!!! 5 yrs on, we’re still here!! If it hadn’t been for amazing friends saying “you can do this” I would still be in a job that was getting more disheartening and just existing.

No matter what age you are, your background, financial situation or how many times you take a knock, with good friends and a “glass half full” outlook, anything is possible!!! Stay safe people!!

Morning you wonderful lot!! Over the past 3 years (yep, 3 since I went it alone), I have met and worked with some amazing people (and a few bellends) but as a whole, I’ve had the best job in the world!!

Now the bad bit (we’ll, not too bad!!) I’ve been suffering with a buggered shoulder for some time now and due to global pandemics, the threat of nuclear destruction and just line in general, nothing has really happened about it………. Until next week😳!!

On Wednesday, I’m due for shoulder reconstruction surgery which is going to knock me out for a few(ish) weeks I’m afraid. I’ve always prided myself in customer service but on this occasion, it really is out of my hand (excuse the pun)

I’m working through the weekend and up until next Monday to get everybody I need to in a position their happy with and then I’ll be vanishing for a few weeks (woohoo I hear some people cry)

I will, of course, be available from hopefully December for major works again (jobs have already booked in advance so be quick if you need me!!)

If I can help out with the hood hand and get you out of a situation, I will always try. I’ll be keeping this and my personal page updated as the weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds (you can see this is not going to be easy!!) go.

I have an amazing family to keep amused with my antics while they tolerate the old cripple for a few weeks. Of course, I’ll be in the pub before anybody says it!!

Any emergency works that need carrying out, A. T. Electrics or Dan Pengally will be there to help - I trust these guys!!

Have a blast people and I’ll see you on the other side. Stay safe😘

Morning People - Happy November!!

As a very wise man said to me a long time ago, your never too old to learn. Everyday is an opportunity to learn something different and yesterday was no exception. I’ve spent the last 18 years working on projects from major factory installations to office fit outs and domestic rewires, along with testing and inspection, fault finding and remedial works.

I’ve never really been involved with central heating systems and hot water supplies as that’s normally been down to the plumbers and their own electrician but recently I’ve been getting involved and yesterday had the pleasure of working for a lovely couple in a nearby village installing a new control centre and Hive thermostat and hub from scratch on a clean wall. A few bits of tidying up to do but it goes to show, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

It goes to show that you may think us wire wizards know everything about electrickery but even we have our UM! moments sometimes😁

PS - that wise man long ago was my dad - the best!!

Have a great day people - stay safe

A rather shocking installation I was called to have a look at some time ago. No protection for secondary insulation of cables. Cables laying on metal ceiling grids. No cable restraint or support for cable joint boxes.

These are the issues and problems of using non-qualified or inexperienced trades to carry out electrical works!! Whilst they may look good from below, unless you look above a ceiling, you have no idea. Poor workmanship and substandard materials can cause premature failure resulting in further costs or even electric shock.

Remember people, do your homework, check out the CPS (competent persons scheme) and check they are accredited - stay safe people⚡️
