Bev and I have spent a lot of time talking through this decision, and it has not been an easy one to make. After much thought, we feel the time has come to move on from Lion Cubs.
Lion Cubs has been a big part of my life since moving to Ewell in 2012. I first met some wonderful mums who are still friends today, as well as childminders who encouraged me to start my career in childcare. Since taking over the group in 2014, I’ve had the privilege of meeting mums, dads, grandparents, nannies, and childminders, and watching so many children grow up and move on.
For the past six years, Bev has been by my side, stepping in just after I had my twins, and she has been incredible at helping to keep the group going. Together, we’ve navigated Covid, cold winters, and countless busy mornings. Sadly, the group is not as busy as it once was, and the winters seem colder than ever—so now feels like the right time to close this chapter.
There are discussions about the church possibly taking over, but nothing has been confirmed yet. As soon as we know more, we’ll update you. In the meantime, I’m always around for a cuppa and a chat if anyone needs one.
