📢 Working Together on Repairs & Maintenance

We just wanted to share a friendly reminder about the best way to report repairs and maintenance issues in our area.

While the TRA is always here to support residents and raise concerns where we can, official repairs and maintenance requests need to be reported directly to Fife Council so they can be properly logged and actioned.

Reporting issues through the official channels is really important because:

✅ Every report is formally recorded
✅ Numbers help highlight recurring problems
✅ It strengthens the case for prioritising work
✅ It gives the TRA something concrete to follow up on

The more official reports that are submitted, the clearer the picture becomes and the stronger our position is when we chase things up.

If you notice an issue:

1️⃣ Please report it using the appropriate Fife Council online form (links will be added below).
2️⃣ Keep a note of your reference number.
3️⃣ Feel free to let the TRA know so we can help monitor progress and follow up where needed.

Non-emergency repairs: https://interfinder.fife.gov.uk/cgi-bin/fife_iftr_index.pl

Emergency repairs: https://www.fife.gov.uk/services/form-pages/request-an-emergency-housing-repair

Contact telephone numbers can also be found on the links above.

By working together in this way, we give ourselves the best chance of getting issues resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.

Thank you everyone for your continued support 💙

Community Update: Looking Ahead to Next Year

As we move through this year, we’re also beginning to think about what the future of the Golfdrum Street TRA looks like for 2026/27.

A Tenants & Residents Association isn’t a guaranteed service for the street, it only continues when there is enough positive community interest, participation and support to sustain it.

If you value having a TRA in Golfdrum Street, whether that’s for raising concerns, improving the area, organising events, or working with the council, we need constructive engagement from residents. 💬

Support looks like:
• Attending meetings
• Volunteering at events
• Interacting with posts in a helpful and solution-focused way
• Sharing ideas and feedback respectfully
• Putting yourself forward to help in any capacity

The relationship between the TRA and the community works best when it’s collaborative and constructive. When that engagement isn’t there, it becomes difficult for the TRA to continue in a meaningful way.

Without active and supportive involvement from residents, the TRA may struggle to continue next year.

This is your street, your space, and your voice. If you want the TRA to remain part of it, now is the time to get involved. 🤝✨

🏘️ How Improvements Across Dunfermline Benefit Golfdrum Street Residents 🏘️

There’s a lot of work happening across Dunfermline to improve public spaces, infrastructure, and community facilities — and while these projects may not all be on our doorstep, they still bring real benefits to residents of Golfdrum Street.

🌿 City centre regeneration, including the transformation of Dunfermline’s High Street and City Square areas, creates better spaces for events, socialising, and leisure — places many of us use regularly for shopping, walking, or meeting others.

🛣️ Road and pavement improvements across the city help make everyday journeys safer and more accessible, whether you’re walking, using mobility aids, pushing a buggy, or driving. These wider upgrades support safer connections between our street and the rest of Dunfermline.

🏘️ New housing developments and energy-efficient homes help meet local housing needs and reduce pressure on existing housing stock, while supporting a more balanced and sustainable community across the city.

🎭 Investment in culture, heritage, and community spaces strengthens Dunfermline’s identity and provides more opportunities for residents to enjoy local history, creative activities, and events — many of which are free or low cost and open to all.

The Golfdrum Street TRA keeps an eye on these wider developments and raises concerns when they directly affect our area, while also making sure our community benefits from improvements happening across the city.

If there’s something happening locally that you’d like us to look into, or an issue you feel should be raised with the Council, please get in touch — your voice helps shape how improvements reach our street 💙🏘️

🐶 Dog Waste Bin Request Update 🐶

The Golfdrum Street TRA has contacted Fife Council to request that a dog waste bin be installed at the grassy area at the east end of the street, where Phoenix Lane and Ross Lane meet Golfdrum Street. Hopefully, on the footpath for ease of access for everyone.

This request was made following concerns raised about dog fouling and used poo bags being left in the area. We’ll keep the community updated once we receive a response from the Council.

In the meantime, a reminder to everyone to bag it and bin it. Dog waste can be disposed of in any general waste bin, and taking it home if a bin is full helps keep our shared spaces clean and pleasant for everyone.

Thank you to the many responsible dog owners who already do their bit 💙
