❗️ Key Changes to GWO Training Standards

From the 10th of September, GWO training standards will introduce several important changes to the way training is structured and delivered:

🟠 Initial and Refresher training will now follow separate course structures, with distinct requirements for each.

🟠 Working at Height and Manual Handling will no longer be combined into one module. Both will become standalone courses and must be completed separately.

🟠 Advanced Rescue Training will place greater emphasis on specific rescue scenarios, with more focused and practical exercises designed around realistic situations.

🟠Refresher courses will include a stronger focus on realistic, scenario-based training, allowing candidates to apply their knowledge and skills in situations that reflect the workplace.

🟠 Completing an Advanced Rescue Training Refresher will no longer automatically renew Working at Height or Manual Handling certification. These need to be renewed through their respective courses.

We have a PPE Inspector Course running on the 5th of October, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The course includes both practical and written examinations. Those who successfully complete and pass both assessments will be deemed competent to inspect PPE within their own company.

Inside our training centre, we have a custom built wind turbine structure designed to replicate key areas of a real turbine.

It’s a vital part of our training, especially for courses like GWO Advanced Rescue, where it’s used to simulate real rescue scenarios. Delegates practice rescuing individuals and moving them through various sections of the structure, helping to build confidence and prepare them for real world situations.

Candidates also get the chance to learn about different safety systems and anchor points.
