Base Perfection Equals Workshop Perfection

Case Study

This 18x12 heavy duty workshop we installed recently is a great example of why its important to get bases spirit level perfect. It can be false economy to order a premium garden building without adequate ground works in place, especially when its easy and cheap to get them perfect.

When I arrived on this job I was greeted be an eco tray plastic base that I would describe as moderately unlevel, thick gravel also increased the problem. You can see in the third photo how the floor looked when down and these levels would only be transfered through the building, panels and roof.

One visit to a local timber merchant later and I constructed a timber frame, risen slightly to take away all of these imperfections and the results can be seen in the finished photographs (Note the perfectly straight roof line and felt)

For most customers using a builder to correct groundworks can sometimes be as expensive as the building itself. Our timber bases can be installed on the same day at a fraction of the cost. The friction of eliminating these builder works also allows you to expadite you delivery date.

Increased height of 6’6 eave that increases to 8’ at the gable peak allows this building to achieve its full potential. It’s intended purpose was in face a cattery 😸
