Not miniature road locomotive related, or even steam related for that matter, however we had a great weekend spent at Tractorfest at Newby Hall & Gardens

If you have never been before there is such a wide array of exhibits, including, as you may have guessed a lot of tractors! 🚜 🚜 🚜

Well what a scorcher that bank holiday has been.🌞

Our club members have been busy attending a number of organised shows along with those enjoying their own steam ups and road runs at home avoiding the crowds.

📍This weekend we are up at Tanfield Railway. Bit of a wet start this morning however weather is fairing up, anyhow what do they say no such thing as bad weather only bad choice of clothes.

📍The bonus of a short week after a bank holiday weekend is another event is just a few days away.😃

Head over to Tanfield Railway for their spring gala to see a a number of locos 🚂 in action along with lots of other activities going on.

A number of our club members engines will also be in attendance so feel free to call over to see us, we will be located over at Marley Hill. 👀👋

Just a small selection of photos from the last day at Festival of Steam Locomotion, Monday 4th May 2026.

What can we say, the sun was shining, exhibits were gleaming, and their owners/operators were oily and happy 😃

Also great to see Rocket running up and down the track. 🚂

Huge shout out to not only all the staff, volunteers and exhibitors who made this weekend a success but also to the many many visitors who came and supported the event over the 3 days 🙌🎊👍

📍Another fantastic day on day two of Festival of Steam Locomotion. 🚂
