🏗️ Moving into Position – Faccin 3415 Plate Roller

Another important milestone for Gray Fabrication Ltd as our recently purchased Faccin Group 3415 Plate Roller has been moved from its temporary home into its new, purpose-built position.

The machine was carefully lifted and lowered into a specially constructed pit, bringing the roller down to a more suitable working level and creating the ideal setup for our operations going forward.

A big thank you to Johnston Rigging Fife Ltd for carrying out the lift and positioning of this substantial piece of equipment safely and professionally. With machinery of this size and weight, careful planning, precision and experience are essential.

This latest investment is another step forward in Gray Fabrication's ongoing programme of modernising our facilities and expanding our heavy plate rolling capabilities.

Semi skilled labourer

We have an excellent opportunity for a semi-skilled labourer to join our well established and successful Steel Fabrication company based in Fife, Scotland.

Job Type: Full-time
4 Day working week: 4 x 9.75hrs
Pay: £14.05 per hour + Annual bonus
Overtime rates are x 1.5 Monday – Saturday and x 2 Sunday.
Annual holidays 257.4 hours – flexible subject to suitable cover and Christmas/New Year break.

Duties:
· Dressing welds with handheld grinders (full training given)
· Keep workshops clean and tidy
· Assist tradesmen in our busy workshops
· Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
Skills:
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
· Self-motivated
· Flexible & adaptable

Storesperson/Material Controller

We have an excellent opportunity for a Storesperson/Material Controller to join our well established and successful Steel Fabrication company based in Fife, Scotland.

4 Day working week Mon to Thu: 4 x 9.75hrs
Job Type: Full-time
Basic Salary £30-34k depending on experience + annual bonus
hours: 39 per week (paid monthly)

JOB DESCRIPTION
-Booking out of welding consumables/PPE to employees.
-Maintaining tidy and efficient stores and steel stockyard.
-Raising purchase orders for goods.
-Loading/unloading of lorries using forklift/overhead crane (training given)
-Unloading and correct storage of deliveries.
-Communicating with suppliers to ensure best price and delivery.
-Data entry into company ERP system.
-Prep goods for dispatch.
-Day to day stock control.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful person will be trustworthy, respectful and methodical. You will have:
-FLT certificate (advantage but not essential).
-Good understanding of H&S in the workplace
-Good IT skills, eager to learn a new system
-Competent data input skills with good attention to detail
-Clean communicator
-Strong worth ethic

Modern Apprenticeship Vacancies
Fabricator Welder

Gray Fabrication is currently looking to fill two Modern Apprenticeship positions. We are a family-owned company servicing the Energy sectors for over 40 years, specialising in the rolling, bending and pressing of heavy plate.

About the Role:
As an apprentice with Gray Fabrication, you will be joining a long-established organisation where you will be provided with training and support to develop valuable skills, earn qualifications and the opportunity to establish yourself as a valued member of the Company.

The programme will follow the Apprenticeship Framework attending college as required whilst we support you working towards completing a Modern Apprenticeship SVQ Level 7 Fabricator welder. When not at college, you will develop your practical skills in our various workshops.

Key Requirements:
· National 5’s in English & Maths at C and above. A science/tech subject would be advantageous.
· Or an NC or equivalent.
· Ability to learn new tasks quickly and to multitask required
· Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be reliable, conscientious and enjoy working as part of a team.

Fabrication Workshop Manager

About The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Foreperson, Workshop Manager or Supervisor ready for the challenge of managing our light fabrication shop.
As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the full day-to-day operation of the workshop, driving efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities
*Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team to ensure smooth daily operations.
*Liaise with our existing client base as well as identify potential new customers.
*Collate man hours and materials for invoicing purposes.
*Oversee fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to meet production and quality targets.
*Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
*Coordinate closely with fabrication and welding supervisors and project engineers to ensure production targets are met.

Qualifications
*Proven experience in Fabrication workshop and supervision.
*Strong leadership and organizational skills.
*Ability to read technical drawings and understand fabrication processes.
*Good communication skills and team management abilities.
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
*Preferred: Basic Microsoft Works knowledge

Overtime rates are x 1.5 Monday – Saturday and x 2 Sunday.
