World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an important reminder of the shared responsibility we all hold in protecting people across healthcare environments. As a healthcare manufacturer, we recognise that the products and solutions we develop ultimately support those delivering care, and the safety of those clinicians and patients must remain central to everything we do.
In the UK, we are fortunate to benefit from robust health and safety standards that help safeguard people at work, although we know this is not yet a global reality. Within our own operations, we aim to embed safety into everyday practice through structured approaches such as our STAR hazard observation programme, alongside active involvement of colleagues in risk assessments and workplace inspections. We firmly believe that the most meaningful improvements come from those closest to the work and the environments where care is delivered.
Given the complexity of global healthcare supply chains, our responsibility extends beyond our own facilities. We are committed to going further than minimum compliance, aligning our approach with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In doing so, we seek to support safer, more ethical, and more resilient healthcare systems worldwide.
For us, safety is not just a requirement—it is a shared commitment to protecting people, enabling better outcomes, and supporting the clinicians and healthcare professionals who rely on our products every day.
