Today I have been up to London to represent our family farm, my customers, my neighbours and the future generations, especially my kids Elsie and George against the proposed Inheritance tax! Despite the absolute unjust decision by the metPolice/LABOUR banned tractors from being in Whitehall despite having a licence from them signed off and agreed for the last 3 weeks! As they say the show must go on, so off we went! The police were very helpful (after they stopped our convoy as we set off to slip in at 5:30 AM) and told us we weren’t allowed to go down Whitehall but had no issue with us driving wherever we liked in London as long as we abided by the law. So we did and went through the busiest routes multiple times where we saw Richard Tice Reform Mp who jumped on our tractor steps for a short while and had a quick discussion! A while later we found a cracking spot to park up and regroup. As it turned out we picked an exceptional spot as I managed to have a very good discussion with multiple influential MPs, civil servants, councillors and members of the public who to our surprise showed us an overwhelming amount of support and concern for the farming community and the countryside. I can say that we’ve all collectively achieved a remarkable effort despite the last minute changes! Just a brief description of my day there was obviously many other highlights!
