Buckshaw Village Photographic Society

Buckshaw Village Photographic Society B.V.P.S is a non profit organisation for the benefit of Buckshaw Village Residents interested in Pho

The society is aimed at amateurs who wish to learn better skills and understand their camera and equipment better. The intention of the society would be to introduce you to new skills and techniques with your equipment, get out and about and start using it rather than sitting in a room looking at slides! I am a passionate photographer, I work in the Wedding & Portrait sector of the industry and I also have a passion for wildlife and landscape photography.

Hello all,

The weather is looking increasingly poor for tomorrows meeting and as such if you do intend to come along please ensure you have adequate clothing and protection for your camera equipment.

I shall be in the car park at 10:00am and shall not be offended if anyone doesn't make it.

Snow is forecast tomorrow morning so please take extra care if you do decide to drive to the meeting.

I hope to see you there.

Many thanks,

Chris - 07826 864 721

To all those who have already LIKED this page... Buckshaw Village Photographic Society is back with a vengeance after some time away. We have had a meeting recently to discuss the details of the society and have agreed we are going to push this forward as a priority. Everyone who has already liked and shown interest in the society could I please ask if you would like to still join the society and if so please let either myself or Stu know via email at [email protected] - Many thanks and I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards, Chris 07826 864 721

Well, hello again everyone. I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get around to this and I hope we still have interested parties. In order to kick things off again I would like to ask everyone to join us and get out and about. Albeit we can't fit in with everyone it would be good if those of you who are interested could drop myself and Stu an email with your availability over the weekend of 14th & 15th September...? Ideally out and about in a park somewhere, I also propose we should look at some night time photography for those who are also interested in getting to grips with this genre. Hope to hear from you all soon. Kind regards, Chris

Finally I am back in the land of normality and looking forward to organising our next meeting and get together. I am ever so grateful to everyone who has patiently been waiting and bearing with me through the last 7 weeks of Jury Service. I'll be in touch very soon via email and also on here along with details of proposed dates and times and locations of get togethers. Again, thanks so much to everyone for your patience.. Chris

It is that time again to organise another meeting and get everyone together. I would like to organise this one on a Saturday or Sunday morning and I also want to organise it out and about. As such I am very keen to hear any thoughts or ideas for locations, ideally local. Perhaps with a view to get some nature shots and wild plants. I would like to suggest a local park, perhaps Cuerden or similar and an early start! If you can all have a think about it and let me or Stuart Knowles know your thoughts as soon as so we can organise the next meeting within the next couple of weeks. If you have no availability please let us know so we can try and work around them as we are all keen to get as many people out there as possible.

Obviously, should we meet in a park environment then warm clothing and ideally waterproofs will be preferable but we won't be too far away from home. There are no rules to getting that shot so be prepared to get wet feet if you don't have wi***es like me!!

If you have a tripod then this would be a good idea but again not essential.

A flask with a hot drink is essential though, especially if you have a tipple in it!! 😉😄

Have a think all and let us know ASAP.

Kind regards,

Chris

Dear all,

Most of you will know that I am unfortunately tied up with Jury Service at the moment and as such I wanted to pop a little note to everyone. Sadly I have been selected to sit on a Jury for a Murder Trial and it is anticipated this will last up to 8 weeks.

I would like to add that as soon as I have been released I will be working to get BAPS going but in the mean time I would like to ask all of you to please bear with me.

Like everyone I can't wait to be back out there with you all and the cameras too.

Albeit I am unfortunately tied up through the week I hope to at least get out with you and work with Stu to formalise things as quickly as possible.

I thank you all for your understanding. Please do send me your images as I will get them uploaded in the evenings.

Many thanks,

Chris 😊
