As proud supporters of bigmoose, the Burroughs team will once again be lacing up their boots to help raise funds for a charity making a real difference to people's lives through mental health support, homelessness initiatives and su***de prevention.

Over the past four tournaments, this fantastic event has raised more than £8,000, and we're looking forward to helping make this year's event even bigger and better.

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on the role we all play in shaping a more sustainable future and more importantly, the action required to get there.

At Burroughs, that commitment is being driven forward by our Sustainability Squad 2.0, a reinvigorated internal group focused on turning ambition into measurable progress.

Working closely with our wider Carbon Reduction Plan, the team is championing initiatives that support our pathway to Net Zero by 2040, aligning with Planet Mark and SBTi standards. But beyond targets and frameworks, the focus is simple: embedding sustainable thinking into how we operate every day.

Just as importantly, they’re fostering a culture where sustainability is considered at every stage, supporting our teams and clients to make more informed, responsible decisions in the design process.

Progress doesn’t happen by standing still. It comes from collective effort, clear direction, and a willingness to challenge how things are done.

For STEM Week, we’re proud to spotlight the people helping inspire the next generation of engineers.

Meet Lee Galsworthy, Senior Civil Engineer at Burroughs.

After a long and rewarding career, becoming a STEM Ambassador felt like an opportunity to give something back. Lee is particularly passionate about challenging the belief that STEM careers are only for those who are naturally brilliant at maths or science. In reality, success in engineering is just as much about curiosity, perseverance, communication and teamwork.

This STEM Week, we celebrate those using their experience to open doors for the next generation.

He’s particularly keen to challenge one common misconception: That STEM is all about difficult maths. In reality, STEM careers are diverse, creative and suited to a wide range of skills and personalities.
