Out in Clydebank today servicing this Worcester combi. Picked up on a few issues, most significant, a fault with the gas valve resulting in poor combustion failing it's combustion analysis testing. Gas valve replaced and boiler left running nicely.

A message to folk in new build properties. From speaking to customers and reflecting on my own experience, the builders give you very little information on how your gas appliance works or how to maintain it. All boilers in new build properties will come with warranty, usually 2- 5 years. It.doesnt see to be common knowledge that the warranty is only valid if the boiler is serviced as per manufacturers instructions, by a gas safe registered engineer.

Attended for a routine service and found the boiler in a dangerous condition. Parts replaced and service carried out to ensure safe operation.
This was a potentially unsafe situation for the customer, whereby exhaust gases could have leaked into the property!!
Proves the importance of routine servicing even if you think your appliance is functioning normally.

Call out from a customer reporting a leak from under the boiler. Found the leak on the mains water feed. A soldered joint had failed only leaking a small amount thankfully. Faulty pipework cut out a replaced. Good idea to open your cupboard and have a look at your boiler now and again.

Customer booked in for a yearly service. On inspection found an internal leak. Rubber hose which drains the condensate has started disintegrating. Boiler fixed and tested.
Boilers do contain parts made of rubber and plastic which can perish.
Great example of why a yearly inspection is so important.

Customer reported water leaking from her boiler. On further inspection found to have multiple faults, if left potentially dangerous for the customer. Boiler hadn't been serviced for over 3 years. I had to condemn the boiler and help organise a replacement. Another good example of why yearly servicing and inspection by a gas safe registered engineer is so important.

Customer reported no heating and no hot water.
After a few minutes of investigation turned out to be a fault with the ignition system. Returned to fit some new parts and give the boiler a service.
Boiler left running perfectly.

Couple of radiator jobs done recently.
Customers went for different styled radiators, albeit a little more expensive but i think make a great addition to any room. Lots of different styles and sizes to choose from.
