Sleep during labour and on the ward is possible and you deserve it! Sleep is a medicine as my babcia ( granny) would say

The environment can work against you: bright lights, noise, dry recycled air. So let’s work with your body.

My favourite hospital bag sleep essentials:
🌸 Silk pillowcase it’s a must for me as soft, temperature regulating, familiar scent from home and it’s great for my hair too🥰
👁 Eye mask, it signals to your nervous system that it’s rest time
🔇 Earplugs, protect your energy between surges
💧 Water - hydration is a key
🍯 Nourishing snacks & treats, blood sugar stability = calmer system
🧴 Rich moisturiser as ward air is as dehydrating as a plane cabin

Small comforts = big nervous system support. You’ve got this. Save it and share with your partner 👇

Today is International Day of the Midwife 🩺💙
The midwife who held your hand. Who stayed past her shift. Who whispered “you’re doing it” when you didn’t believe it yourself.
This year’s theme is because right now, the world is short one million midwives. With one million more, we could prevent 67% of maternal deaths, 64% of newborn deaths, and 65% of stillbirths every single year.
In the UK, our NHS midwives are stretched, underpaid, and undervalued, yet they show up every single day.
If a midwife changed your birth story, drop a 💙 below. Let’s flood the comments with gratitude today.

Breakfast & Babies
Friday 27 February - 10am to noon

MNVP Lead, Chaya will be dropping into Keynsham Community Hub this week, to meet parents and carers at Breakfast & Babies.

If you attend the group and would like to share your experiences of maternity or neonatal care, she'd love to hear from you in person! This is a great opportunity to give feedback face-to-face if you’d rather not complete an online form.

She'd love to talk to as many of you as possible on the day, so if you see her – please do come and say hello!

Will I be a good mum?” - If this thought has crossed your mind, you’re not alone mama ✨
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room - those 3am pregnancy worries that Google can’t quite silence. As many as 80% of pregnant women feel some degree of anxiety and worry about birth and pregnancy, and it’s time we normalized these conversations.
The TOP 5 worries that keep us up at night:
🤱 “Will I be a good mother?” - Imposter syndrome hits hard when you’re growing a human
😰 Fear of labor pain - More than 20% of women experience some degree of fear when it comes to childbirth
💔 Miscarriage concerns - Especially in the first trimester, this fear can be overwhelming
👶 “Is my baby developing normally?” - Every symptom gets analyzed and re-analyzed
🏥 Birth complications - What if something goes wrong during delivery?
Here’s what I want you to know: Your fears don’t make you weak. They make you human.
These worries are your love for your baby manifesting as protection mode. But you don’t have to carry them alone.
Let’s create a safe space right here 👇
COMMENT BELOW:
What’s your biggest pregnancy worry right now? No judgment, just mama-to-mama support. Sometimes just naming our fears takes away their power.
