An excellent opportunity has become available to join MEC Precision Engineering as a Skilled Manual Machinist, working in our machine shop as part of our small, friendly engineering team.

This is a varied role, utilising a wide variety of skills within a mechanical engineering environment, carrying out a wide range of manufacturing and repair solutions.

Full time, permanent position. 39 hours per week, no shifts. Competitive rate of pay.

Update on our recent delivery.

Here at MEC we like to go large and even larger and this is what was hiding under the covers on the crane lorry 😀

Our long bed Centre Lathe is 5600mm long, 600mm longer than our existing machine with:
13 3/4" centre height
144” between centres
Swing over bed 27”
Double gap, swing in gap 46" x 18"
Spindle Bore 4 1/8”
Spindle speed to 600RPM

Workshop reconfiguration to site the machine is progressing and we cannot wait to get this bad boy fired up and powering through some metal 💪
