Alain Lay has over 30 years of experience preparing personal watercraft for championships in Europe, the United States, and worldwide. He was Kawasaki's official performance engineer as the Kawasaki team went unbeaten four years in a row. He later worked with Yamaha on engine performance for two generations of Yamaha watercraft, his improvements were successfully implemented and are still in use today. He has dozens of innovative solutions to his credit, used in both competition and mass production, that help improve the performance of watercraft. Alain Lay's natural talent for analyzing and solving problems, sometimes insoluble at first glance, combined with his tenacity and perfectionism, led him to prepare the engines of mopeds, which he was forbidden to drive because 13 years old. Then he became a professional and got involved in motorcycle and watercraft competitions. He won many titles in competitions including those of World Champions, and European Champions with pilots like Brice Lopez, Jean-Bruno Pastorelo, and Valentin Dardillat. Thanks to his experience, Alain Lay has largely contributed to the development of big wave surfing. He has worked with many surfers involved in the World Surfing League in big waves, such as Sébastien Saint-Jean, Gautier Garanx, Joan Duru, and Peyo Lizarazu. At Lay Dynamics, he is the Director of Engineering for the development of solutions offered to race pilots, professional watercraft users, and Lay Dynamics customers. The role of President of Lay Dynamics is filled by his brother Thierry Lay, an entrepreneur with international business experience.

We Won!

From March 23-25, the Basque Country International Cup 2025 took place. It was a wonderfully organized Jet Ski racing series. For us, this was the second edition where we participated as the technical partner of the incredibly talented pilot Lander Cortazar. We collaborate with Lander because we believe he is the most promising young Jet Ski pilot. His skills and professional approach, combined with our technical solutions, led to the big success.

Lander Cortazar dominated the GP2 class, winning three races and finishing second in two other races in the GP2 class. At the same time, he maintained a top position in the general classification, which included classes GP1, GP2, GP3 F1 ATM, and GP3 F2 ATM. This resulted in his victory in the GP2 class and a 3rd place in the general classification, only behind very experienced pilots in the GP1 class. We are proud.

Although Lay Dynamics is a multinational company with business partners almost on every continent, these racing waters are special to us. We test our Jet Ski technologies here. This location is like a second home for us, and for some team members, it's the most important place on earth. Thanks to our collaboration with Lander Cortazar, we can proudly say that we won the International Jet Ski Cup at home, in the Basque Country.

We are thankful that we could be part of this wonderful event - the Basque Country International Cup 2025. We would like to express our gratitude and congratulations to the organizers: Union Internationale Motonautique, EUEMF - Federación Vasca de Motonáutica, Real Federación Española de Motonáutica and Consejo Superior de Deportes.
