We are delighted to welcome 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲, our new 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁, to the Dessintey France team 🇫🇷

With a background as a therapist, Capucine joins our team dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals and helping medical teams implement our solutions.

At Dessintey, we strongly believe that technology can only reach its full potential when it is 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲.

🇪🇸 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

Before a movement is performed, a lot has already happened. The brain has perceived the body and its environment. Attention has been mobilised. An intention has emerged. The action has been represented, planned and prepared.

At Dessintey, this is how we think about rehabilitation: 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘁.

This was precisely the purpose of Pierre’s recent visit to our partner 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗱 in Spain.

The objective was to explore the 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, IVS - https://www.dessintey.com/ivs-intensive-visual-simulation/ -, STIIMP - https://www.dessintey.com/stiimp-implicit-induced-stimulation/ - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 SRT - https://www.dessintey.com/srt-lab/ -, and how they can complement conventional rehabilitation.

Different technologies, but a common philosophy: considering the patient beyond the impaired limb and combining 𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 to enrich rehabilitation strategies.

How can we increase rehabilitation intensity and active patient engagement, including through group therapy and guided self-rehabilitation?

These are the questions behind our technologies, and the questions we want our partners to understand and discuss with clinicians.

Because transferring a technology is relatively easy. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁.

🇺🇦 “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀.”

These are the words of the rehabilitation team at the 𝗟𝘃𝗶𝘃 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝘆𝗻𝗻𝘆𝗸𝘆, where Dessintey technologies are now being used to support patients in their recovery.

For people who have lost a limb or experienced impaired limb function, rehabilitation is not only a physical challenge. As the hospital explains, the brain must also learn to control movement again without its usual point of reference.

“The brain sees the movement and learns to restore the lost connections.”

With 𝗜𝗩𝗦3 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗩𝗦4, patients can see a virtual image of the affected limb and observe its movement. The objective is to help the brain restore lost connections, regain control over the body and alleviate phantom pain.

The hospital is also using 𝗦𝗥𝗧5, giving patients the opportunity to carry out part of their rehabilitation exercises more independently.

For 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘆, this is what innovation in rehabilitation is about: developing technologies that can become meaningful tools in the hands of healthcare professionals and, ultimately, support patients on their journey towards recovery and greater independence.

💡 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗩𝗦4, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

𝗜𝗩𝗦 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. By providing the patient with positive visual feedback of the movement, IVS helps facilitate 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 and strengthen the 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱.

With 𝗜𝗩𝗦4 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the patient can work on the lower limbs, progressing from 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀.

In a standing position, IVS4 allows for a more advanced 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝘁.

The difference is essential: in the seated position, the exercise is performed in a 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 and can focus on 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴. In the standing position, the patient must manage their body weight and the loading of their feet. This necessarily involves 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝘀 and the coordination required to 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲, with one leg acting as the 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴 while the other is 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮.

➡️ The patient therefore works not only on the movement of one limb, but also on the 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝘀, which is essential for functional activities such as walking.

This award recognizes an approach that places the patient experience at the heart of the design process, with a strong ambition: 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

With SRT Lab, rehabilitation is not only something patients do on their own. It can become a reason to 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆. By creating opportunities for interaction and emulation, SRT Lab helps break the isolation that can accompany long periods of rehabilitation.

It also gives a new meaning to the role of loved ones: 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, rather than simply moments spent at the bedside.

SRT Lab explores how 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, bringing together the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, and their families.

This marks an important milestone in the 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 programme.

In total, 180 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 45 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲, bringing innovative rehabilitation technologies closer to the patients and healthcare professionals who need them.

But this is not the end of the journey.

Our teams will continue travelling to Ukraine to provide 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝘂𝗽 to the healthcare professionals using these technologies. Because beyond the equipment itself, we believe that sharing knowledge, building expertise and supporting teams over the long term are essential to making a lasting difference. That is also why, in partnership with Invivox - https://www.facebook.com/invivox -, we have deployed 40 e-learning training modules in Ukrainian, giving healthcare teams access to valuable resources to strengthen their skills and knowledge.

We are extremely proud to have contributed to this ambitious project alongside all the partners involved in 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲.
