The Water Resources Research Center offers a full suite of professional services for the study, design, supervision, and investigation of water resources projects. We provide end-to-end expertise in water resources management, backed by our new, modern laboratory and advanced field equipment. Our services include:
• Water & Energy Infrastructure: Design and supervision of hydropower schemes, irrigation, and flood control.
• Water Analysis & Monitoring: Comprehensive water and wastewater quality analysis using our new, modern laboratory.
• Scientific Field Studies: Meteorological, hydrological, hydrogeological, surface and groundwater potential investigations supported by state-of-the-art field equipment.

The Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) at Arba Minch Water Technology Institute, Arba Minch University (AMU) is a specialized research center dedicated to addressing critical water resource challenges through scientific research, innovation, and community engagement. The center plays a vital role in advancing sustainable water management, conservation, and utilization practices.
Key Focus Areas:
1. Research & Innovation:
Conducts multidisciplinary studies on the sustainable water resources management, hydrology, renewable energy, irrigation and drainage, Water Supply and Sanitation, Climate Change, Variability and Impacts, and Emerging Issues.
Investigates solutions for water scarcity, pollution, and sustainable water use for agricultural, hydropower and water supply.
2. Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
Works closely with local communities, government agencies, and NGOs to identify water-related challenges and implement practical solutions.
Promotes participatory research to ensure relevance and applicability of findings.
3. Capacity Building & Training:
Provides training programs for students, researchers, and professionals in water resource management.
