Decibel Acoustic Solutions design and fabricate the Neoprene Acoustic Hanger used in a floating ceiling system is designed to reduce the transmission of impact and airborne noise from one floor or ceiling space to another. Here's a breakdown of the idea and function behind it:

🔧 Basic Concept:
A floating ceiling is a secondary ceiling suspended below the main structural ceiling. The goal is to decouple the ceiling finish (like gypsum board) from the building structure to isolate vibrations and noise.
The Neoprene Acoustic Hanger is a vibration isolator that forms part of the connection between the main ceiling structure and the suspended frame of the floating ceiling.

🧠 The Idea Behind Using Neoprene:
Neoprene is an elastomer – a rubber-like material that has excellent vibration-damping properties.
It absorbs mechanical energy and prevents it from being directly transmitted from the structure (like concrete slabs or steel beams) to the suspended ceiling.
This breaks the path of sound and vibration transmission.

🔇 Main Acoustic Benefits:
Reduces structure-borne noise:
Footsteps, furniture movement, mechanical vibrations, etc., are isolated.
Limits airborne sound transmission:
Voices, TV sounds, music from above are significantly reduced.
