⭐ 98% Accuracy In Perovskite Thickness Monitoring Using infinityPV R2R Coater ⭐
Perovskite solar cells hold immense promise for next-gen photovoltaics, but scaling up production while maintaining film uniformity has been a major hurdle. Traditional quality control methods like profilometry are destructive and impractical for real-time, large-scale manufacturing.
Researchers from the University of Antioquia and Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe have now developed a new in-line inspection system using an infinityPV Roll-to-Roll Coater combined with machine vision and AI.
This innovation enables real-time, non-destructive thickness monitoring of perovskite films with 98.5–98.6% accuracy, matching the precision of conventional profilometry.
☀️ Key Highlights ☀️
• Real-time, non-destructive thickness monitoring of perovskite films.
• 98.5–98.6% accuracy in predicting film thickness, comparable to traditional methods.
• Successfully tested in a continuous roll-to-roll production environment, proving scalability.
• Enables immediate adjustments to coating parameters for improved yield and reproducibility.
• A cost-effective, AI-driven alternative to destructive quality control methods.
