XGate Dental XGATE Dental revolutionizes restorative dentistry with precision-engineered and screw-retained systems

A small component with an essential role in the final restoration.

The Ti-Base creates the connection between a customized prosthetic restoration and the implant — combining the precision of a prefabricated titanium interface with the flexibility of a digitally designed restoration.

As shown in the video, the restoration is designed around the Ti-Base, prepared for bonding, and connected to create a single restorative unit. This approach allows clinicians and dental technicians to work with individualized emergence profiles and restoration designs while maintaining a precise titanium connection at the implant level.

From digital design to final seating, every step depends on the accuracy of the components working together.

Watch the video to see the Ti-Base workflow step by step.

Precision in prosthetics isn't a marketing word – it's a measurable tolerance. Every XGATE component is manufactured and verified to micron-level accuracy, the same standard of control that separates predictable restorations from guesswork.

That's not a claim. That's a spec.

What do you do when posterior bone volume is insufficient and immediate loading is not an option?

This clinical case by Dr. Irakli Antia, together with prosthodontist Ketevan Kush*tashvili, follows the rehabilitation of a patient in her 70s with poor retention of a removable mandibular denture.

CBCT revealed significant posterior bone loss and low bone density, leaving only the anterior mandible suitable for implant placement. A two-stage protocol with four XGATE X11 implants was therefore selected to allow sufficient time for osseointegration.

The final restoration combined V-Type Multi-Unit Abutments, a titanium bar, and a zirconium dioxide bridge. The bar helped distribute functional forces across the four implants and manage the distal cantilever.

The case demonstrates how adapting the treatment protocol and prosthetic design to the patient’s anatomical conditions can create a predictable path toward fixed rehabilitation.

What happens at the implant surface during the first weeks after placement can influence the entire treatment timeline.

Modern implant surfaces are engineered to do much more than provide mechanical contact with bone. Their topography, chemistry, roughness, and wettability influence protein adsorption, osteoblast attachment, bone formation, and ultimately the process of osseointegration.

This article reviews the evolution of implant surface technologies — from conventional sandblasted and acid-etched surfaces to mineral, nanostructured, biomimetic, and antibacterial coatings — and examines the level of evidence behind their proposed clinical benefits.

Implant surface technology is not simply about creating a rougher surface. It is about engineering the implant–tissue interface to support predictable biological integration while understanding the evidence and limitations behind each approach.

Osseointegration is the first milestone, not the finish line. A stable, well-integrated implant gives every restoration the foundation it needs — but that foundation is only the beginning of what determines long-term success.

Experience is invaluable, but even the best clinical skills can’t eliminate every variable in an analog workflow

Physical impressions, stone models, laboratory communication, transportation, and manual adjustments can all introduce small inaccuracies.

Individually, they may seem insignificant. But across multiple stages, these small discrepancies can accumulate, leading to more chairside adjustments, remakes, and treatment time.

Digital workflows don’t replace clinical expertise. They reduce the number of variables between the clinical situation and the final restoration, helping make the entire process more consistent and predictable.

The goal isn’t simply to make dentistry more digital. It’s to create a more controlled restorative workflow.

Predictability starts with the workflow, not only with the operator

What does it actually take to provide a fixed provisional restoration immediately after implant placement?

Part 2 of our series on angled abutments and tilted implants moves from theory to clinical application, following a real full-arch case from tooth extraction and implant placement to the delivery of a screw-retained provisional prosthesis.

The article examines one of the most important factors behind immediate loading: primary implant stability. It discusses how insertion torque and ISQ values influence the decision between delayed, early, and immediate loading and why these parameters should be evaluated before proceeding with provisionalization.

The clinical case also demonstrates the use of 17° and 30° angled Multi-Unit Abutments to restore differently positioned implants and explains the workflow for converting a temporary denture into a screw-retained provisional restoration.

But immediate loading is not only about achieving sufficient implant stability. The article also explores reinforcement of temporary full-arch prostheses, passive fit, cantilever management, occlusal contacts, and prosthesis design, including mistakes that may compromise an otherwise successful surgical result.
