Maasvlakte II, Rotterdam – The Netherlands

MCE Aschersleben delivered a major quantity of Piles and Foundations for platform structures with total weight of ca. 5000 mt.

Maasvlakte II is a major civil engineering project in the Netherlands, constructing a new port and supporting infrastructure on reclaimed land adjoining the Maasvlakte. Approximately 2000 hectares will be reclaimed.

The area opened on 22 May 2013. Container terminal operators APM Terminals and Rotterdam World Gateway began construction of their terminals in 2012. The APM terminal opened in April 2015. Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) is the main competitor for European Container Terminals (ECT), currently the biggest operator of a container terminal in Rotterdam. RWG's terminal includes a 20-meter-deep dock and its own railroad station, and would be capable of handling 2.35 million containers annually.

At MCE Aschersleben, we're proud to have played an important role in ADNOC Group's Al Ruwais refinery project | TAKREER Abu Dhabi Oil Refinery Al Ruwais

The Al Ruwais refinery, which is ADNOC Group's largest refinery with a total oil production capacity of 837,000 bpd, features two trains that are designed to process 700,000 tons per annum of superior-quality anode green petroleum coke. As the contractor for the coke calcination units, MMEC Mannesmann played a key role in ensuring the success of this innovative and complex project.

MCE leveraged it’s expertise in engineering, component design, and procurement to ensure the successful trial run in Q3 2018 delivering the entire heavy rotating equipment and water cooling systems as well as related spare part packages.

Special challenge in special times
MCE Aschersleben GmbH / INTRA BV

With the acquisition of a second floating dock, Neue Jade Shipyard is expanding its shipyard infrastructure and creating additional docking capacity. The Wilhelmshaven NVL site specializes in the maintenance and repair of frigates and other units of the German Navy.
MCE Aschersleben GmbH was able to carry out the necessary prerequisites for the new berth at short notice. For the infrastructure to be upgraded, larger structural steel pipes with a total mass of 300 t with heavy corrosion protection were required. For production, which usually requires a period of 12 to 16 weeks, MCE Aschersleben realizes the delivery of the first dolphins in a record time of only 8 weeks and thus ensures the on time start of construction.

In close coordination with the customer, all other mooring dates are reliably made available to the construction just in time. With the short-term procurement of the material from new milling, MCE was able to keep costs within the originally planned framework despite the short delivery time. MCE's long-standing partner Intra BV, from the Netherlands, specializing in quay walls and special foundation engineering, is professionally responsible for the commercial project management and logistics in this project. The MCE Aschersleben team has a relevant background in the project business and several decades of experience in equipping the North Sea ports of Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Antwerp as well as numerous port facilities on the French Atlantic and Mediterranean coast. The high-performance production facilities, in-house quality assurance and coating facilities in the factory were the absolute prerequisites for the success of this special project.

| From 1990, MCE has been privatized again and taken over by Lentjes AG Ratingen🌍.

MCE is known for its Power Technology and collaborated with Lentjes already years before reunification of Germany. It was a consequent decision to join forces and become part of the team. In the new set up MCE extended its scope to gas cleaning technologies and became center of competence for Stacks and chimneys within Lentjes Group.

MCE has become a major component provider for large scale plant engineering in the Power industry💥

For our , we will look back over three decades to the year 1990. From the End of World War II until the reunification of Germany in 1990, our company played a major role in Power engineering of Eastern Germany.

We have exported our first High Pressure Preheaters to the Peoples Republic of China in the year of 1955! During the following four decades under the lead of Berlin headquartered group KAB we have exported in countries like Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Angola, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Algeria, India and many others.

The main products were pressure vessels and heat exchangers in the water steam cycle of fossil fired power stations. Beside these components we fabricated piping systems, cooling water lines and gas ducts mainly for the power industry.
