A Powerful Alliance! Genting Plantations and Dayu Irrigation Forge Strategic Cooperation to Lead the Upgrade of Plantation Industry in Southeast Asia

The 42nd Annual Plantation Management Conference of Genting Plantations was solemnly held recently at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen. Under the theme of "Integration of Humanity & Technology, Jointly Creating a New Future of Smart Agriculture", the conference focused on the in-depth integration and innovative application of digital technologies in tropical agricultural plantation. During the conference, Genting Group and Dayu Irrigation officially signed a global strategic cooperation agreement on agricultural irrigation, with senior executives of both parties attending and witnessing the signing ceremony together.
At the signing ceremony, Datuk Lim Kong Hui, Chief Executive Officer of Genting Plantations, and Cui Jing, Senior Vice President of Dayu Irrigation Group, signed the agreement as representatives of both parties. Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Executive Chairman of the Genting Group, attended as a key guest. The core management team of Genting Plantations and the international business and technical team of Dayu Irrigation also participated, and both sides reached a consensus on long-term cooperation.
Pursuant to the agreement, Genting Group and Dayu Irrigation will establish a long-term strategic partnership. Leveraging Genting's plantation bases in Malaysia, Indonesia and other SE Asian countries, the two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation on smart irrigation, integrated water and fertilizer management, and agricultural digital services for tropical cash crops such as oil palms, so as to develop efficient water-saving and intelligent management solutions tailored for tropical agricultural scenarios.
In the same period, Genting Group also reached intentions for cooperation with top domestic technology brands in the fields of drones, satellites and robots, jointly exploring paths for the whole-chain upgrading of agricultural tech.
This strategic cooperation marks a significant milestone for both parties in the field of smart agriculture.
For Genting Plantations, the partnership will leverage Dayu Irrigation’s advanced irrigation technologies and digital management capabilities to improve resource efficiency in its plantations, consolidate its leading position in the SE Asian palm oil industry, and drive the transformation from traditional planting to smart agriculture.
For Dayu Irrigation, the collaboration will rely on Genting Group’s global industrial ecosystem to quickly access high-end plantation client groups in Southeast Asia, establish benchmark international smart agricultural irrigation projects, and accelerate its global market expansion.
