The treads look like they float. The steel that holds them doesn't.

Every dimension on this stair gets measured to the millimeter before sign-off, then verified again on the workshop floor against the drawing. Only after that does the structure come apart and get crated.

The site assembly is the second build, not the first.

What you're looking at isn't on a job site yet.

It's a full trial assembly on our workshop floor — every tread, every glass panel, every joint fitted and signed off before crating. The first build happens here. The second build happens on your site. That's why it fits.

Every curve you see started as flat stone slabs.

Before this staircase reaches a job site, every tread is cut to its exact place on the curve — measured, shaped, trial-fitted in our Guangdong workshop. No two treads share the same shape. That's the part most factories skip.

So when it arrives on site, it fits the first time.

You can tell a wooden mono staircase is well-built by walking up it before it ships. That's how we test ours.

Every wooden tread cantilevers off a single steel beam down the middle. Before this one left our workshop: someone walked the whole flight watching for any flex. LED strips got fitted into the gaps between treads. The stair was pre-assembled and checked one more time.

The video calls it "100% Factory Pre-Assembled & Tested." That's the only way we let one ship.

There's a moment when a glass-tread staircase lights up for the first time on the workshop floor — the LED catches every tread edge, the stainless base reflects it back, and the whole thing looks like it's about to lift off the marble.

That moment is also when we know it's ready to ship.

This is a custom mono build. Every glass tread cantilevers off a single steel beam down the middle. LED strips along each tread edge. A mirror-polished stainless base at the bottom.

If you're asking what 2026's high-end residential brief looks like — this is it.

The most common headache in overseas staircase projects: the supplier shipped it, but the parts don't actually fit the site.

That kept showing up in conversations at Sydney Build Expo 2026.

The short answer is simple in principle, harder in practice: confirm dimensions on paper before anything is cut. Trial-assemble it in the factory. Photograph the finished assembly before crating.

That's the workflow we showed up to talk about.

Curved side-plate stairs leave almost no tolerance for geometry errors.

The side plate arc, stringer camber, and tread bracket positions must match the approved drawing before the tread is fitted. A deviation that is acceptable in a straight stair is not acceptable here — the cumulative effect of an arc error compounds across the flight.

DBM checks curved stair geometry at each stage: plate bending, stringer fit, bracket positioning — before tread installation begins. Overseas project teams receive components that are geometry-verified before shipping.

Choosing a glass railing system starts with understanding the fixing method — not just the glass itself.

Spigot systems, U-channel systems, patch fittings, and clamps each have different requirements for:
- Glass thickness and temper
- Edge finish treatment
- Hole or notch specifications
- Structural support conditions

These details affect which glass type should be specified for the project.

DBM supports overseas builders and designers with drawing-first coordination, helping teams confirm glass type, fixing method, and structural interface before fabrication begins.

Glass railing failures are rarely about the glass itself.

They are about missed details before production: fixing method and glass type mismatch, site dimensions not confirmed, shop drawings reviewed in isolation from the installation team, and railing height or hand clearance that does not align with the local project standard.

These details are predictable. They are also preventable with drawing-first coordination.

DBM supports overseas builders and designers with drawing review, code-aware detailing suggestions, and pre-shipment quality checks on glass railing and stair packages.

If your project involves glass railing, share your drawings early.

Managing one custom stair project is straightforward. Managing multiple export projects simultaneously — each with different geometries, finishes, and packing requirements — requires a structured process.

For each project in the workshop, the checkpoint sequence is the same: drawing confirmation, dimension verification, trial fit where needed, alignment checks, and export crating. The footage from our workshop this week shows exactly that process in action.

DBM handles custom stair and railing packages for international projects with a structured, documented workflow.
