Before buying a drill press, answer at least these 3 groups of questions first:

1. **What are you drilling?**
Material, commonly used hole diameter, maximum hole diameter, and drilling depth.

2. **How will the workpiece be set up?**
Workpiece size, fixtures, tool length, required spindle travel, and available working space.

3. **Under what conditions will the machine be used?**
Usage frequency, voltage, frequency, phase, order quantity, and target market.

**16mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 32mm are only product size categories — they are not a complete answer for selecting the right drill press.**

Why can’t you compare prices directly just because two machines are both called a “25mm drill press”?

Because **25mm only tells you the nominal drilling capacity.**

Before comparing prices, you still need to confirm:

• What material will you drill?
• How deep are the holes?
• What cutting tools will be used?
• What spindle speed range is required?
• Is the low-speed torque suitable for the workload?
• Are the spindle travel and working space sufficient?
• Does the electrical configuration match your local market?
• Can the sample standard be consistently reproduced in mass production?

A professional comparison should always be made under the **same working conditions, same specifications, and same inspection requirements**.

Simply putting two “25mm drill presses” side by side and comparing unit prices can lead to the wrong decision from the very beginning.
