See you in London!
We’re heading to ESCRS 2026 and would love to meet you there.

From 11–15 September, the Fine Visual team will be at ExCeL London, where we’ll be presenting the FineVisu 2000 and sharing more about our work in femtosecond laser technology.

If you’re an ophthalmologist, refractive surgeon, distributor, or simply interested in what’s happening in the field, come by and have a chat with us. We’d be happy to show you the platform, answer your questions, and hear about your experience and needs.

We call it FINE Surgery.

FineVisu 2000 is the femtosecond laser platform behind KLEx (Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction), a new approach to corneal refractive surgery.

Combining femtosecond laser technology with a streamlined surgical workflow, FINE Surgery reflects our vision of making next-generation refractive technology accessible to more ophthalmologists worldwide.

💭 So, what makes FL-MILK different?

Earlier this month in Kunming, China, Fine Visual took part in the 4th TFOS China & 8th National Cornea and Ocular Surface Innovation Conference, where we introduced FL-MILK to the world.

FL-MILK — Femtosecond Laser-assisted Minimally Invasive Lamellar Keratoplasty — is an original surgical technique developed by Professor Gao Hua and his team for the treatment of advanced keratoconus.

Traditional corneal transplantation typically involves a large incision, multiple sutures, and a complex surgical procedure.

FL-MILK uses a femtosecond laser to perform precise corneal cutting based on each patient’s 3D corneal data. The graft diameter, cutting depth, and cutting angle can be customized according to the individual cornea.

The technique features:

🔹 An incision of approximately 2 mm
🔹 Femtosecond laser-assisted precision cutting
🔹 Customized cutting based on 3D corneal data
🔹 No conventional sutures
🔹 A laser cutting stage of approximately 5 minutes

During a dedicated WetLab session, ophthalmologists had the opportunity to see FL-MILK demonstrated live on the FineVisu 2000 femtosecond laser platform and experience the surgical workflow themselves.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the experts who contributed to the scientific exchange throughout the meeting:

🔹 David A. Sullivan, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS)

🔹 Stephanie Watson, Director of the Save Sight Institute, Head of the Corneal Unit at Sydney Eye Hospital and Professor at the University of Sydney

🔹 Mohamed Shafik Shaheen, Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Alexandria University, Egypt

🔹 Xingtao Zhou, Vice President of the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University and Director of its Department of Optometry

And a special thank you to Professor Gao Hua and his team for their clinical research and pioneering work on FL-MILK, as well as for their guidance during the WetLab session.

We are proud to support the translation of an original clinical technique into an advanced femtosecond laser platform.

👁️ A personal milestone, 12 years in the making.

On July 4, 2026, Mr. Cao, Founder and General Manager of Fine Visual, underwent refractive surgery using the FineVisu 2000 — the femtosecond laser platform his own team spent over a decade developing.

"I made a promise to myself that one day, I would correct my own vision using a device we developed. Today, that promise has been fulfilled. I have no regrets."

The procedure was performed by Professor Wang Yan at Tianjin Eye Hospital. Mr. Cao's case came with real clinical challenges — reduced accommodative capacity, a relatively thick cornea, and mild myopia just over 1.00 diopter — which called for a thin lenticule design.

This moment caps more than 12 years of R&D collaboration between Fine Visual, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and ophthalmology experts across China — and it's a milestone we're proud to share.

👉 Follow us to learn more about the FineVisu 2000 and our ongoing work in femtosecond laser technology for ophthalmic applications.

FS-MILK Wetlab | August 8, 2026 | Kunming, China

Discover FS-MILK (Femtosecond Laser-assisted Minimally Invasive Lamellar Keratoplasty), an emerging surgical approach for the treatment of advanced keratoconus, during a dedicated Wetlab at the 8th Congress on Innovative Technologies for Corneal and Ocular Surface Diseases (TFOS China).

Developed by Professor Gao Hua and his research team at Shandong First Medical University, FS-MILK aims to simplify lamellar corneal transplantation through a minimally invasive femtosecond laser-assisted procedure.

During the Wetlab, participants will have the opportunity to explore the FS-MILK workflow performed on the FineVisu 2000 femtosecond laser platform and engage in scientific discussions with Professor Gao Hua and his team.

Professor Gao Hua will also present the clinical rationale behind the technique and review the published research evaluating its application in advanced keratoconus. Reported clinical outcomes have shown encouraging improvements in visual function and corneal biomechanics, together with a favorable safety profile throughout the published follow-up period.
