TBM Cutter Rings
The disc cutter is the main part of the shield machine/TBM to perform the rock-breaking and is regarded as the “tooth” of TBM. The service conditions of the disc cutter are extremely bad, and it is prone to cause wear, or even chipping of the cutter ring during service, so the cutter ring becomes the main consumable part in the construction process, which shortens the service life of the shield machine/TBM.
