How to Check Excavator AC Refrigerant Using Sight Glass
Do not arbitrarily add refrigerant just because the cooling performance is poor. Here is an easy inspection method:
Start the vehicle, turn on the AC system and run it for 5 minutes, then check the sight glass.

- Figure A: No bubbles flowing inside → Refrigerant charge level is correct.

- Figure B: Continuous bubbles passing through → Insufficient refrigerant.

- Figure C: Completely clear with no flowing bubbles → Refrigerant is empty or overcharged.

This is only a rough judgment. You need a pressure gauge for accurate testing.

Fault symptoms: The machine operates slowly. When the control lever is moved, the engine stalls. The machine pulls to one side during travel and cannot go straight.
Two solenoid valves control the flow of the front and rear hydraulic pumps. A stuck valve spool will trigger different faults:
1. Spool stuck at the low-flow position leads to slow machine operation
2. Spool stuck at the high-flow position results in engine stalling
3. Spool stuck at the medium-high flow position causes excessively high hydraulic oil temperature
If one spool gets stuck while the other works normally, uneven flow distribution will form, ultimately leading to travel deviation.
