In adipic acid production, the nitric acid oxidation process generates large volumes of corrosive off-gases containing nitrogen oxides (NOx) that must be safely compressed and recovered. The Kenflo 2BW7 Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump Package, equipped with the CBA2 liquid ring compressor, is the ideal solution for this critical application.

๐Ÿ† Kenflo's special subject, "Improving the Surface Qualification Rate of Stainless Steel Liquid Ring Pumps," wins first prize at the 45th Guangdong Mechanical Industry QC Achievement Conference. It is also the second time we have won the first prize since last year at this annual authoritative quality event.

The team members come from different departments. They analyzed the problems of paint quality on the surface of stainless steel liquid ring pumps, replacing conventional spray painting with a paint-free finishing process, which resulted in measurably higher surface quality, a shorter production cycle, and annual cost savings of approximately ยฅ240,000.

In a 100,000 t/y oxalic acid capacity expansion project, Kenflo deployed 9 pump packages: 6 sets of 2BW5 and 3 sets of 2BW9, which were equipped with CDF(II) and CDF(III) Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps.

In this application, the vacuum system must sustain stable high vacuum under highly corrosive media and heavy water v***r loads. Kenflo CDF series features an optimized hydraulic model, integrated casing casting, and standard mechanical seals, reducing leakage risk and effectively resisting acid corrosion. The unique side antiโ€‘cavitation port and optional inspection cover enable easy onโ€‘site valve plate replacement and internal inspection, minimizing downtime. Wetted parts can be specified in SS316L or duplex stainless steel, perfectly suiting crystallization and ev***ration duties.

Base suction pressure reaches 33 mbarA (97% vacuum). With an optional atmospheric ejector, the pump can operate down to 10 mbarA. It is a reliable choice for demanding chemical vacuum applications.

Key Features:
โ€ข Double-casing Structure: It features an integral cylindrical pressure-bearing casing, comprising an outer barrel and an inner core. The pump suction and discharge nozzles are arranged on the outer barrel and sealed with spiral-wound metal gaskets. This design offers a small sealing area, ensuring safe and reliable sealing performance.
โ€ข Core-pulling Design: The inner core incorporates a modular pull-out design, allowing the entire rotor assembly to be withdrawn from the barrel during maintenance. This operation requires no disassembly of the suction/discharge piping, motor, or coupling, which significantly reduces maintenance downtime and improves serviceability.
โ€ข Multiple Impeller Arrangements: Impellers can be arranged either in the same direction or back-to-back. The first-stage impeller is configurable with either single-suction or double-suction construction. The double-suction design improves pump suction performance and is particularly suitable for low NPSHa conditions.
