Try to calculate the coating thickness of galvalume steel!

🐙 The calculation of the thickness of a 55% aluminum-zinc coating is as follows:
[Sum of the nominal coating weights on both sides (g/m²) / 50 (g/m²)] x 0.0135 (mm). In other words, the thickness of a 50g/m² coating is 0.0135mm.

🐠 For example, the thickness of a 150g/m² coating would be 150/50 x 0.0135 = 0.0405mm.

How to produce printed prepainted steel?

The production process of printed prepainted steel sheet usually adopts gravure printing technology, using laser engraved steel rollers to transfer ink onto the surface of the steel sheet.

The production process of two-coated and two-baked printed prepainted steel sheet is as follows:

First, the base material is cleaned, degreased, passivated, and subjected to other pre-treatments.

Then a layer of matching color primer is coated on the surface of the base material, and the primer is dried and cured.

Next, the pattern is printed with ink, and after drying, a matching clear coat is applied. After drying the clear coat, the sheet is rolled up.

How to classify color coated steel sheets?

How to choose the coating thickness for PPGI?

📚 The internationally recognized method is the zinc coating ratio, which is the weight of the coating per square meter on one side of the substrate (in grams) divided by the thickness of the substrate (in mm).

📙 A zinc coating ratio greater than 100 provides a certain guarantee against cut-edge corrosion for color-coated steel sheets.

For example:
For a 0.6mm substrate, the single-side zinc coating weight should reach 60g/㎡
For a 0.7mm substrate, the single-side zinc coating weight should reach 70g/㎡

📘 Thinner substrates with thicker coatings provide better resistance to cut-edge corrosion.
