A funny thing happens during the busiest week of the year at APS: job titles stop mattering.
This week, every technician we had was already out on the road when a customer called with a major issue. So Philip — owner of APS, lead engineer, and apparently emergency service technician this week — dropped what he was doing, grabbed his tools, and went to get their system back up and running.
That left the rest of us filling the gaps.
The office staff left their computers for forklifts and power tools. Phones still got answered. Equipment still went out the door. Customers still got taken care of.
That’s the thing about APS. We build systems with redundancy because when something matters, there needs to be backup. Turns out we run our team the same way.
And when the owner is willing to jump in wherever he’s needed, it sets the tone for everybody else.
