How Do You Integrate a Home Elevator Without Compromising the Floor Plan?

A home elevator should improve accessibility—not dominate your living space. The key is to plan the location around natural circulation, furniture placement and how each floor is used.

For existing homes with limited space, the Po***ck Residential Elevator offers a compact shaftless home elevator solution. Its through-floor design travels between two levels without requiring a traditional elevator shaft, making it especially suitable for space-constrained retrofit projects.

Smart home-elevator planning includes:

✓ Positioning the elevator near existing circulation routes
✓ Avoiding valuable kitchen, bedroom and hallway space
✓ Aligning openings conveniently on both floors
✓ Checking floor structure, headroom and electrical requirements early
✓ Preserving natural light and furniture layouts
✓ Selecting a compact elevator designed for an existing home

Whether you are planning a renovation, preparing to age in place or improving wheelchair accessibility, early design coordination can help integrate a residential elevator naturally into your home.

Cairo Contracting Ltd. provides professional planning and home elevator installation in Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island.
