Attention Home Buyers - Don’t skip your inspection!

It’s a tough market for home buyers at the moment with so much competition for such a limited housing supply. You might think you need to waive your inspection condition to get your offer considered/accepted, but that doesn’t mean you need to skip an inspection altogether. If you love a house and want to feel confident presenting your best offer, a pre-offer inspection can be a great approach. Having the extra information an inspection provides really helps you make an informed offer.

In the event that you’ve already waived your inspection condition and your offer has been accepted, now would be a great time to book a post-purchase inspection to take place after you close on the property. A home inspection isn’t just a tool to help with your decision to buy, it’s a valuable education on the home and home-ownership. This can be performed at any time after closing, but doing it before moving all of your belongings in is an ideal time.

So, you just waived your home inspection and won that bidding war. Congratulations! Now what? It’s still a really good idea to get that home inspected. You bought it, might as well learn what condition it’s in, right? A home inspection will uncover things you might not have noticed during your walkthroughs and it will provide you with a great education on your new home and its systems. Find out which issues should be addressed right away and which ones can wait. Scheduling the inspection during one of your pre-closing visits would be preferred but immediately after closing works too. Message me for more info.
