MEET OUR ENGINEERS

Good engineering starts with understanding the work and having that expertise right here in our shop gives us a serious advantage.

Meet two of the engineers behind the work at Thunder Bay Hydraulics:

Waheed Mohammed, P . Eng
20 years at Thunder Bay Hydraulics

Julie Lalonde, P . Eng
Nearly 7 years at Thunder Bay Hydraulics

Having professional engineers as part of our in-house team means we can design, problem-solve and make technical decisions internally, working directly alongside our machinists, welders, technicians and production teams.

Instead of having to contract engineering work out, we have the expertise under our own roof, allowing for better communication, faster collaboration and a deeper understanding of the projects we take on.

It’s one of the things that gives Thunder Bay Hydraulics a leg up: engineering and manufacturing working together, from concept to completion.

We’re proud of the experience, knowledge and technical expertise Waheed and Julie bring to our team every day.

From learning the business to building something entirely new.

We’re proud to see Jamie Crozier, President & Owner of Thunder Bay Hydraulics and Atlas Elite Auto Lifts, featured in this month’s Northern Ontario Business.

When Jamie joined Thunder Bay Hydraulics in 2018, he was stepping into an industry with a steep learning curve. Rather than pretending to have all the answers, he asked questions, picked up the phone, leaned on relationships, and learned from people across the country who were willing to share their experience.

That mindset continues to shape the company today.

Jamie wasn’t born and raised in Thunder Bay, but after completing his post-secondary education here, he chose to stay and has continued building his career, businesses, and future in the community.

From serving Northwestern Ontario’s mining and industrial sectors through Thunder Bay Hydraulics and Custom Hydraulics, to taking a niche car-lift business and transforming it into Atlas Elite Auto Lifts, the goal has remained the same: keep learning, take calculated risks, surround yourself with good people, and find a way to build something better.

We’re proud of where we’ve come from, excited about where we’re going, and even prouder to be doing it from Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Built here. Engineered here. Made to move.

This National Manufacturing Day, Thunder Bay Hydraulics and Atlas Elite Auto Lifts are celebrating the people, skills, and innovation behind Canadian manufacturing.

From hydraulic systems and precision machining to the engineering and craftsmanship behind a luxury automotive lift, every product starts with people who know how to turn an idea into something real.

Manufacturing isn’t just about what we make.
It’s about the people who make it possible.

Proud to design, engineer, build, and manufacture right here in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, we pause to honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous communities, families and generations.

Truth and Reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. It means listening, learning, remembering and taking meaningful steps toward understanding and building stronger relationships with Indigenous peoples and communities.

At Thunder Bay Hydraulics, we recognize the importance of reflecting on our shared history and the role each of us can play in reconciliation.

We remember. We listen. We learn. We move forward together.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

BEFORE --> AFTER

Sometimes you’ve just got to stop, take a look around, and get things organized.

We gave our hose and fitting room a much-needed overhaul to make it easier for our team to find what they need, when they need it.

Keeping things organized behind the scenes means less time searching, more time getting the job done, and ultimately, better service for our customers.

It might not be the flashiest job in the shop, but the little things add up.
A well-organized shop keeps things moving.
