The before and after. Not the cleanest soldering, but it holds up. No leaks.Just removed the excess pipes. Capped the cold water at the T abd just decided to use a couple of couplers for the hot to make it one continuous piece.

Wish I had taken a photo of what it looked like. But turned out pretty clean. The tefflon didn’t entirely seal it so had to use pipe dope around the threads. The shut off valve was cracked and didn’t fully seal so replaced that and took out the unnecessary shark bites and copper to replace it with a single length of pex that attaches to a 1/2” adapter. I replaced the outside water faucet while at it and just crimped a clamp ring. No leaks now.

Going back tomorrow to inspect for leaks and make sure it’s all sealed. Then I’ll probably silicone or foam around the hole. Cut a bit of insulation to fit in that crawl space and go around to the outside to further secure screws into the plate.

Pro Tip: Don’t just sand the ends of the copper. You also need to sand and clean up the ends of the pex you cut before connecting them to other fittings.
