Recently finished up a complete rewire on this absolutely gorgeous 1969 Camaro, the previous system was not quite up to par, it received a brand new American Autowire update kit, and new LED interior lights. Coupled with an AFR headed big block and Tremec 5 speed manual transmission, this car is timeless perfection that now has well deserved brand new wiring front to rear all on sealed deutsch connectors throughout.

Well this one kind of kicked my ass over the last couple weeks, I started out with a set of scissor hinges I fabricated for the tilt bed floor to pull the boards away from the front bed wall when opening, while it technically worked, it was finicky and I was not confident it would be problem free once the truck left.. so I decided to back up and redesign the hinge system to a simple pivot point hinge instead of the complex scissor hinges, and what a difference, the actuators are much happier and the function is much simpler and much less to go wrong.. at the end of the day, sometimes it’s better to admit defeat and start over instead of adding complexity to try and force your original plan to work! Not a very profitable few days but that’s ok, I’m very happy how it functions now.

Little update on the corvette project, engine bay details are pretty well sorted out, along with finally getting the new windshield frame assembled and fit and gas struts added to the trunk lid along with cup holders integrated into the centre glove box, almost time to blow it all apart for paint!

Next up on the 60 corvette project was a console to house the electronic tap shifter and clean up the Interior, it was formed from aluminum with a hammer form and then a custom riser was 3d printed so we were able to use the factory shifter bezel, swipe right ——->.

Added a clean little access door with a soft close hinge to one of the bed wood boards to access the battery, for charging and tightening of battery terminals, the battery is removed from the underside but it’s always nice to access it without laying on the ground!

Working on fitting the wood bed on the Chevy truck project, got all the red-oak boards milled up from to my custom widths for a more even board width all the way across, instead of two narrow boards like the original style.
