Looking to hire:
Junior Truss/EWP Designer

Nor Truss is a long-established roof truss manufacturer in Miramichi with over 40 years’ experience designing and building floor and roof trusses.

Job Summary: Nor-Truss is looking for a full-time truss and EWP designer for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.

Responsibilities:
Review and analyze plans, specifications, and technical documents provided by clients;
Design roof, floor, and ewp structures according to reviewed plans and technical data;
Prepare layout drawings based on architectural and/or engineering plans;
Perform structural calculations for engineered beams, columns, studs, and lintels;
Review and validate layout plans and shop drawings prior to release for production;
Prepare detailed technical drawings for manufacturing;
Prepare estimates and pricing for clients;
Ensure compliance with current building codes and standards;
Provide support to clients in case of on-site issues;
Travel to job sites for consulting or to check measurements;

What Whe're Looking For

***No experience needed, however applicants with any of the following will be prioritized.
Experience in roof truss or EWP design;
Experience with CAD software, especially Mitek Sapphire;
EWP component design, such as CSD iStruct;
Degree/diploma in engineering with a Structural Engineering focus or relevant experience/education;
Carpentry or building experience in wood framed construction;
Strong understanding of building codes and standards;

Bilingualism (French/English) will be considered an asset
*Salary to be discussed based on experience.
