A customer told us the software was the hard part.
Not the machine. The machine cuts. It was everything around it: draw the part, set up the toolpaths, post the file, carry it over, hope the numbers survived the trip. A door panel is four dimensions and a couple of hinges — and it was taking longer to program than to cut.
So we wrote CutMaster.
It runs on the machine’s own panel, beside the control. The operator types the stock size, the panel size, the corner radius. Ticks the operations that are wanted — roughing, finishing, chamfer, hinge recesses. Presses Generate. The program is written straight into the folder the control loads from.
It knows the machine it lives on: it reads the tool table out of the control, so tool lengths are never copied by hand. It shows the toolpath before anything moves. And because not every workshop works from drawings, every screen also reads as plain text.
One module so far — door panels. More to come.
