From Turning Wrenches to Selling Solutions
When I first stepped into the world of heavy equipment as a apprentice technician at the age of 16, my job was simple: keep machines running and keep businesses moving. But what I didn’t realize then was that every repair, every late night fix, and every conversation in the field was building something far more valuable…trust.
Over the years, I worked on countless pieces of equipment for one particular customer. I learned their challenges, their goals, and what kept their business ticking. Those experiences weren’t just about machines; they were about people, reliability, and showing up when it mattered most.
Fast forward to today, after transitioning into sales. Recently, I had the privilege of selling equipment to that same customer. This one meant a lot. As I made my 3hr drive north, reflecting and being reminded of the early mornings and late night travels of that same highway, that I frequently drove in a service rig… It wasn’t just a sale, it was the culmination of years of shared effort and mutual respect. This moment reminded me that relationships aren’t built overnight…they’re earned through consistency, honesty, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.
For me, sales isn’t about transactions. It’s about partnerships. And this milestone is proof that when you put people first, the opportunities follow. Thank you to such amazing clients who have given their trust, education, wisdom and advise over the years.
