A HUGE congratulations to Tommy Thompson and Davis Michaluk on winning the Minto Cup with their team!

The Minto Cup is the highest national championship in Junior A box lacrosse in Canada, and Tommy is the first player from Cranbrook to ever bring home a Minto Cup! What an incredible accomplishment!

And another huge congratulations to Davis Michaluk, who also played for the Blackwolves and was part of the team that won the McDonald Cup! 🏆

These are the moments that make our lacrosse community so proud. Seeing players who came through our program go on to compete—and win—at the highest levels is something special.

Congratulations Tommy and Davis! We are incredibly proud of you both!

Congratulations to our Cranbrook Badgers U13 and U17 Field Lacrosse teams on both bringing home bronze medals from Calgary this weekend! 🥉

Both teams battled hard, showed incredible determination, and fought right to the very end. The effort, teamwork, and heart you showed on the field made us incredibly proud.

What a weekend it’s been for the Cranbrook Badgers! 🦡🥍

They left it all out there.

Kootenay Zone 1 Box Lacrosse team is bringing home a Silver medal 🥈after being defeated by Vancouver Island.

What. A. Tournament. 🥍

These boys repeatedly faced all-star teams from population-dense zones with hundreds of players and multiple clubs. In the Kootenays, we have 28 U17 players in our zone from just two clubs. We took 19 to the Games, and made history. 🥹

For the first time, we won all preliminary games.
For the first time, we battled for gold.

And for the first time, we took home a medal in box lacrosse at the BC Games👏👏

We may be small in population, but we are mighty in lacrosse. This silver medal is big, and make no mistake: This is not an underdog story— it’s a BIG DAWG story.

For years, these players have all chosen to sacrifice, commit, and live for this game. Many have come up through the Cranbrook Minor Lacrosse program together 🐺. This was an incredible climax for a team of players who play relentlessly for each other and their coaches, who represent the best of what lacrosse is: grit, heart, passion, perseverance, dedication, respect, and commitment.

Enjoy this moment, boys. It’s yours.

It’s a dream come true. 🥍

Kootenay Zone 1 wins 13-0 over Team Indigenous and makes BC games history by going undefeated in the preliminary round winning all three games in their pool. 👏👏👏👏

They head to the gold medal game tomorrow. 🥇
We WILL be coming home with hardware. What colour? Stay tuned.👀

With practices and the Opening Ceremony behind us, it's finally time to compete!

Today marks the start of competition at the 2026 BC Summer Games. Box Lacrosse gets underway at Kelowna Memorial Arena, while Field Lacrosse takes the field at Mission Recreation Park.

Best of luck to all the athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Play hard, have fun, and make the most of this incredible experience. Let's get the 2026 BC Summer Games underway!
