Bhutan Automation & Engineering Ltd Holds Annual Rimdro on 14th April 2026

Bhutan Automation & Engineering Ltd conducted its annual Rimdro ceremony on April 14, 2026, led by Kenpo Ugyen Lhendup. The ritual was held at the company premises, with employees participating in prayers for peace, protection, and prosperity.

The event was attended by guests from Chhukha RBA, Chukha Hydro Plant, THP dam, Wangchu Middle Secondary School, and Chukha Hospital, reflecting strong community and spiritual unity.

Appointment of Chief Technical Officer at Bhutan Automation & Engineering Ltd

Bhutan Automation & Engineering Limited (BAEL) is pleased to announce the official appointment of Mr. Dorji Samdrup as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the company.

Mr. Dorji Samdrup has served as the Interim Chief Technical Officer for a period of 20 months, during which he demonstrated strong technical leadership, commitment, and dedication to the organization. In recognition of his contributions and performance, the management has formally appointed him as the Chief Technical Officer of BAEL

Lhabsang Thruesel Ceremony at Gyenkhang

To mark this important occasion and to purify and remove any negative obstacles, a Lhabsang Thruesel ritual was conducted at Gyenkhang.

Following the ceremony, Khadar was received from Zhangthopelri, and Mr. Dorji Samdrup was formally escorted to the BAEL office, where he was warmly received by the staff.

A Khadar ceremony was held, including the offering of Tashi Khadar (congratulatory khadar). The event was followed by the serving of Suja and Desi, and concluded with a lunch for all participants who attended the ceremony.

The management and staff of BAEL extend their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Dorji Samdrup and wish him continued success in his role as Chief Technical Officer.

Bhutan Automation participated in the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development of Hydropower in the Himalayas, held from 20–21 November 2025 at Paro, where experts, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the region gathered to discuss the future of hydropower in the Himalayan region.

Over the two-day event, the conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and technical sessions highlighting sustainability, innovation, and long-term hydropower development. Delegates explored themes including resilient infrastructure, digital transformation, dam safety, environmental balance, and advanced engineering solutions suited for Himalayan conditions.

As part of the event, Bhutan Automation took part in the technical exhibition, showcasing its range of services and solutions in electrical automation, protection systems, control logic development, SCADA communication, and engineering support for hydropower plants. The company demonstrated its ongoing work in modernizing hydropower operations through innovation and practical field expertise.

The exhibition allowed delegates, engineers, and international participants to interact with the Bhutan Automation team, learn about the company’s ongoing projects, and explore opportunities for collaboration in automation and sustainable hydropower development.

BHUTAN AUTOMATION marked its 8th Foundation Day today with a series of meaningful and joyful events. The celebration began with a traditional butter lamp ceremony in the morning, symbolizing light, gratitude, and new beginnings.

The company was honored by the visit of delegates from the World Bank, who were given a guided tour of the workshop, showcasing Bhutan Automation’s ongoing projects and innovations. The highlight of the morning was the cake-cutting ceremony, led by Dasho, the Managing Director, commemorating another successful year of progress and teamwork.

After the departure of the guests, the celebration continued with fun activities and team-building games, bringing laughter and energy across the company. Today, BHUTAN AUTOMATION successfully conducted a hands-on training session on the proper use of fire extinguishers for all our team members.
The training was conducted by the highly experienced CHP Safety Team, who shared their valuable expertise and practical knowledge to ensure our workplace is better prepared for fire emergencies.

The session included:
✅ Fire Safety Awareness – Understanding different classes of fire and which type of extinguisher to use for each.
✅ Practical Demonstration – Step-by-step instructions on how to operate a fire extinguisher safely and effectively.
✅ Hands-On Practice – Every participant had the opportunity to try using a fire extinguisher under guided supervision, building confidence to act quickly during a real-life emergency.
✅ Safety Tips – Learning the importance of early detection, evacuation procedures, and maintaining calmness in critical situations.
