Mecanic Voodoo's missions are:
1) to entertain music lovers across all generations, origins, tastes and social groups;
2) to support local musicians in their endeavours of creating and performing qualitative and innovative content. Since its inception in 2013, the collective has been developing an integrated network of activities where musicians from the community can easily rehearse, produce, rec
ord, mix and perform live music. Everyday, we see inspiring musical talents and we want to assist them surpass the challenges they face when it comes to producing and performing their music. Effectively, Mecanic Voodoo divides its activities into two branches: Mecanic Voodoo Events and Mecanic Voodoo Studio. On one end, Mecanic Voodoo Events organises:
- collective improvisations (also called “jams”) in unexpected places around the city
- concerts in bars and venues. We also do booking for events we don’t directly organise and we provide our PA gear when needed.
- “total events” where a wide variety of artistic disciplines are presented: go from music to live painting and sculpture, from animated movies to contemporary installations... You name it. In an effort to open up the community to all, most of our events have been free and the bar prices are always kept democratic. On the other hand, Mecanic Voodoo Studio is a production studio where bands can rehearse, record, arrange and mix their music with top-notch equipment and skilled professionals that are musicians themselves
