বেসমেন্ট নির্মাণে shore protection work হলো খননকৃত এলাকার পার্শ্ববর্তী মাটি সরে যাওয়া ও ধস প্রতিরোধে ব্যবহৃত অস্থায়ী সহায়ক কাঠামো—যেমন sheet pile, soldier pile, diaphragm wall ইত্যাদি—স্থাপন করা। একই সাথে ভূগর্ভস্থ জলের চাপ ও অনুপ্রবেশ নিয়ন্ত্রণে permanent waterproofing ও ground stabilization ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়। এই কাজগুলো পাশের ভবন, রাস্তা ও ইউটিলিটি লাইনের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করে, কর্মক্ষেত্রে ঝুঁকি কমায় এবং বেসমেন্ট কাঠামোর দীর্ঘমেয়াদি স্থায়িত্ব বজায় রাখে।

Concrete mixing এ অতিরিক্ত পানি ব্যবহার করলে সিমেন্ট পেস্টের ঘনত্ব কমে যায়, ফলে কংক্রিটের শক্তি ও স্থায়িত্ব উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে হ্রাস পায়। অতিরিক্ত পানি বাষ্পীভূত হওয়ার সময় ছোট ছোট ফাটল তৈরি করে এবং কংক্রিটকে অতিরিক্ত সংকুচিত করে। এর ফলে কংক্রিটের পৃষ্ঠ দুর্বল হয়ে ধুলো ঝরানো, স্কেলিং (খোসা ছাড়ানো) ও দ্রুত ক্ষয়ের ঝুঁকি বাড়ে।

Arc Welding হলো একটি ফিউশন ওয়েল্ডিং প্রক্রিয়া, যেখানে দুটি বা ততোধিক ধাতব টুকরোকে যুক্ত করতে বৈদ্যুতিক আর্ক (electric arc) ব্যবহার করা হয়। একটি ধাতব ইলেক্ট্রোড ও মেটাল এর মধ্যে আর্ক সৃষ্টি হলে অত্যন্ত উচ্চ তাপমাত্রা উৎপন্ন হয়—প্রায় ৬,৫০০°C—যা সংযোগস্থলের ধাতুকে গলিয়ে ফেলে। গলিত ধাতু পরস্পরের সাথে মিশে গিয়ে ঠান্ডা হওয়ার পর একটি শক্ত, স্থায়ী ওয়েল্ড জয়েন্ট তৈরি করে।
