Are you OK?

Today is a reminder to check in with the people around us, not just today, but whenever something doesn’t seem quite right.

At work, we spend a lot of time alongside our team. Sometimes we’re in a good position to notice when someone seems quieter than usual, distracted, stressed or simply not themselves.

We don’t need to have all the answers. We just need to start the conversation.

Let's ask “R U OK?” today and take the time to listen.

And if someone tells you they’re not OK, encourage them to seek the support they need.

Today, check in with a workmate, friend or family member. A genuine conversation could mean more than you realise.

Your warehouse door could be leaking more than air.

In a busy warehouse, every forklift movement through an open doorway creates an opportunity for conditioned air to escape and outside air to enter.

And the problem isn’t always poor insulation.

Long opening times, worn seals, damaged tracks, unsuitable controls and doors being left open between movements can all affect temperature control and increase the workload on heating or cooling equipment.

For high-traffic facilities, it’s worth looking at the entire opening:

• How often does the door cycle?
• How long does it stay open?
• Are the seals still doing their job?
• Do the controls suit the actual traffic flow?
• Is the door suited to the temperature difference it is managing?

We’ve broken down the main causes of warehouse door heat loss and where facility managers should start when looking for improvements.

One of our doors has now travelled Sydney to Perth. Three times.

That's how far the bottom edge of ONE door has travelled at Woolworths Truganina. 9,555km.

10 of the Movidor rapid doors on site are all past 1 million cycles. 2 of those doors is past 2 million cycles. Every single one of those 10 doors just passed its 6-monthly PM service with zero faults.

This is what happens when quality equipment meets proper preventative maintenance.

The maths on winter door maintenance is pretty simple; most facilities just leave it too late.

A planned service visit in July costs a fraction of an emergency call-out in August, once you factor in after-hours rates, a compressor running flat out in the meantime, and the product at risk while the door's out of action.

We’ve broken down the equipment failure risks in our latest blog, with suggested solutions that will see you through to the warmer months ahead: https://ap1.hubs.ly/H01bnNl0

A failed loading-bay door doesn't just need a repair. It disrupts your business.

Industrial doors take a beating - constant cycling, forklift traffic, temperature swings, washdown exposure. Yet they're often serviced on a generic schedule instead of one built around actual use.

Our latest article covers:
🔹 Why service frequency should follow cycle volume and risk, not a fixed date
🔹 Daily checks operators can do vs. what needs a qualified technician
🔹 Classifying doors by risk so critical openings get proper attention
🔹 Why recurring repairs often point to a bigger issue, not just a broken part

Damian Pederick started Remax Doors servicing the needs of the food industry in the Goulburn Valley, home to iconic brands like SPC, Ardmona, and Campbells.

Twenty-seven years later, Remax Doors employs around 90 people, manufactures in regional Victoria, and supplies doors to some of the most operationally demanding environments in Australia.

The first product wasn't even a door. It was a strip curtain. But the thinking behind it was the same thinking that runs through everything Remax Doors has built since: find the problem, understand it properly, and build something that genuinely solves it.

We've shared Damian’s perspective on the blog. It's the origin of a business that started with the food industry at its heart —and has been a loyal partner to it ever since. Click here: https://ap1.hubs.ly/H01gbcC0

New build, upgrade, or a door system that's due for a rethink?

Our team are on sites throughout NSW this August helping clients unpack and plan their next project requiring door upgrade or replacement. We'd love to stop by your site.

Winter has a sneaky way of driving up operating costs, especially if your industrial or commercial doors aren't pulling their weight. Draughts, heat loss, and inefficient door systems can quietly cost you more than you'd think.

Now's the perfect time for a free, no-obligation site assessment or simply book in to discuss your next project. We'll take a look at your space, talk through your requirements, and help you figure out the right door solution before winter costs stack up further.

Three things happen inside a food facility every winter that most facility managers don't connect back to the door.

Condensation on evaporator coils and control panels from air that shouldn't have got in. Temperature cycling that pushes refrigeration compressors into overload. And more forklift strikes near doorways, because visibility's lower and floors are wetter in winter.

On their own, each one's a maintenance headache. Put them together over a season and they compound into the kind of failure that ends up as an emergency call-out instead of a planned one.

We've mapped all three, and what they cost, in our latest blog article: https://ap1.hubs.ly/H01bnRf0
