▫️Not all retaining walls need to look pretty, they just need to be functional- these are our favourite❗️
This shotcrete wall was created 80cm thick to re-support the house foundations above which were undermined by rock fall caused by heavy rains.
The wall was anchored back to the cliff to prevent future instability.

🔵 “Over engineered” is an overused term. These retaining walls need to withstand huge rain events like yesterday.
Anything less is a gamble that may or may not pay off.

🔴 Here’s a recently completed shotcrete solution to a collapsed retaining wall with a very narrow corridor to work in.
A good balance between aesthetic, structural function and build-ability.
