40 years ago, Australia won the America's Cup in a boat designed by a boy from country NSW.

This historic win ended 132 years of American rule in their own cup.

And who can forget the feeling it gave millions of Aussies.

The late great Bob Hawke summed it perfectly - proclaiming that "any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up today is a bum."

A defining moment in Aussie history, brought to life by Australia II with it's famous winged keel.

All designed by Ben Lexcen, a boy from Boggabri, a small town in North Eastern NSW.

What a story.
