A personal access door might look straightforward to install, but small installation issues can create bigger problems down the track.
A few common pitfalls to watch for:
An opening that's not square
Even a small discrepancy can affect the way a door sits, swings and latches.

Frame alignment
If the frame isn't installed correctly, the door can bind, drop or leave inconsistent gaps around the perimeter.

Getting the door and hardware to work together
Hinges, latches, closers and locks all need to work together properly. Poor alignment can affect both operation and security.

Getting the installation right for the environment
External doors need to be installed with the surrounding structure and weather exposure in mind. The door itself is only part of the finished entry.

On a traditional build, a fire door gets specified, ordered, and installed on site, with time built in to sort out any issues along the way. Modular and containerised projects don’t work like that.

For modular and containerised builds specifically, that means the doorset has to be engineered to work within the structural and dimensional constraints of the module itself and supplied with documentation that satisfies certifiers and asset owners over the life of the facility, not just at handover. This is exactly the space Larnec operates in.
