Been working on some Art Deco era Bakelite lamps lately, and finally have them out on display. Shade selection for the Saturn lamp, and the standard lamp are entirely up to you, whether you go for a glass shade or get a fabric shade made to suit. The little white Duperite Baroness bed lamp has spring clips in the base, so it can be fixed to a bedhead, but I think it makes a nice little addition to a desk.

This is one of the reasons I love working with lighting for special houses. Being able to get in frames and suspensions in different finishes, inverting arms, and fitting different shades, means that we can create personalised lighting to suit your own home. This Robert Kitto Lighting Paddington 3 light is a classic example. The catalogued image with Zipper style holophane shades looks OK, but change them to these teardrop holophanes from Lighting Inspirations and you get a whole new fitting, and a whole new look.

Been keeping an eye on this Chevron 5 light slip shade pendant, from the 1930's by Markel, for a couple of years now, and finally went and bought it recently. It needed a lot more work than I thought it would, but now it looks the way it always should have. The lustre paint job has come up a treat, and I couldn't believe how the glass cleaned up. Replacement parts added, and now rewired, it's finally ready to be installed into someone's beautiful home.

Here's a bathroom that has been some time in the making. Jon and Jacinta dropped in to see me several months ago, looking for Brodware taps and accessories. They were very keen on this Organic Rumbled Brass finish, that will deepen in colour over time. Combined with switches from Buster and Punch, and other beautiful selections, and they now have an elegant bathroom that will be a great way to start every day. Thanks for the photos guys!

I can't believe this is happening!
Never would it have crossed my mind as a young boy, that my ugly, plastic light shade would one day be desirable. I couldn't imagine it being desirable when it was made! But here we are, years later, and even I have to say that, yeah, these do have something going for them.
I know I'm not really "selling them", but let's be honest, these pictures say it all, don't they?

1 week into the new year, and it's hard to believe I ever had some time off. Especially when you consider that even when I was travelling around the South West in my break, I was still out there picking up projects. I'm still amazed at what we turn up, and these photos are just a small selection of some of the items I hope to complete this year, and get out for sale in the shop.
I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, and that this new year is going to be exceptional for you.
I have a new year's resolution, but I don't know if I can achieve it; by the end of the year, I want to be doing enough business that I can take on a staff member.
I'm going to do everything I can to ensure that our business reputation is the highest of the high, that we continue to offer the best service, better than you expect.
The focus is on getting you the right items for the job. The right style, and the right quality.
My theory is that if we do this we will grow. Then all I have to do is get someone in here that has the right attitude, knowledge, and dedication to the customers, and everything will be brilliant!
