A customer recently approached us looking for a solution to transfer 35% Hydrochloric Acid using air-operated diaphragm pumps.

Not every pump solution is built to handle it reliably.

A customer recently approached General Pump Company looking to replace two existing progressive cavity pumps that were suffering ongoing operational issues due to the aggressive nature of the trade waste being transferred.

The application involved chemically aggressive trade waste containing oils, degreasers, and various cleaning agents, causing excessive wear and reliability concerns on the existing pumps.

Initially, a direct replacement maintaining the same operating duty of approximately 200 L/min at 1.5 bar was requested. While an air operated double diaphragm pump was considered, the site lacked sufficient compressed air capacity to efficiently operate pneumatic pumps at the required duty.

After reviewing all site and operational conditions, General Pump Company selected a Staunch electrically driven double diaphragm pump solution.
