Why we built SAVR phone-first

In our first six months, SAVR went from not existing to monitoring more than 10,000 tyres.
After 25 years of building businesses, including the past 10 in eCommerce, I'll say this plainly. SAVR is the best thing I've put my name to.
The problem with the old way
Traditional tyre pressure monitoring systems rely on a dedicated screen mounted inside the vehicle. Another device, another charger, another thing taking up space on the dash. It's how the category has worked for years, which is why most products in it look the same.
We went phone-first instead
SAVR sensors connect directly to your phone over Bluetooth, showing live tyre pressure and temperature for every tyre on your vehicle and your van. If something needs attention, the alert is spoken out loud through your phone or car stereo, so you hear it before you'd ever see it.
No extra screen. Just clear information where you already look and listen.
Why that one decision matters
It might sound like a small design choice. It isn't.
It means we own the app rather than accepting whatever software comes bundled with the hardware, so we can fix things properly when they need fixing.
It means you can add sensors as your setup grows. Buy a caravan next year and you buy sensors, not a whole new monitoring system.
And it means the product keeps improving after it's installed, through a software update rather than a new box.
What we're building
We're not finished. There's more coming in the app, and we're taking SAVR into New Zealand, North America, the UK and Europe.
