Mark has been in the automotive industry since 1985 and established MD Autocare in 1996 from his home garage and, as his business and customers increased, he moved into his current Braeside address in 1998. At MD Autocare, we are aware having your car serviced and repaired can be extremely inconvenient, costly and time consuming and we aim to always make the process as easy, convenient a

nd cost effective for you as possible. Mark aims to, and is proud to, always provide a clean, friendly and welcoming workshop, where people are happy to return to. Here at MD Autocare, we will go out of our way to make sure the inconvenience to you is minimal and we strive to accommodate your needs as much as possible. Mark has extensive experience in High performance and prestige vehicles, often claiming he ‘grew up’ on these vehicles and he has an ear for the humming and purring of a perfectly tuned piece of machinery! ‘Petrol runs in my veins’ he says. Whilst you work, your car can be expertly serviced without inconvenience to you.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and mentally drain you to the point of depression — even in the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you.
Compare you to others.
Use you.
View you as a service, not a person.

People expect discounts.
People value your hard work less than a big chain store.

You worry if you forget to reply to a message or email…
Did they think it was on purpose?
Did I disappoint them?
Will they hold it against me?
When the reality is — you just can’t get to everyone.

Running a successful small business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships.
There is often no work-life balance.

You are the director, the worker, admin, marketing, accountant, cleaner…
All while being a parent, provider, family support, friend, spouse.

There’s a reason many small businesses don’t make it past 5–10 years.
If they do succeed — they’re often overwhelmed.
It takes a toll.
It’s exhausting.

Especially over the past few years, when so much has been out of our control.

This is just a reminder that behind every small business is a normal person with a hectic life.

Please be kind.
Be patient.
Support small businesses.

Most importantly, I want to thank my amazing wife for her endless support — lonely dinners, extra chores, and holding everything together when I wasn’t around.
And my children, for understanding, for loving me even when I was working late.

Hi guys, funny little story. This nice commodore was stolen over two and a bit years ago. The original owner was very upset and said to her husband if I ever find my car I will buy it back. The original owner saw it on market place. It had been purchased at police auctions by someone, so she ended up purchasing it back , she now has her baby back 🫶🏻
